Acupuncture is over 2,500 years old. It is practised all over the world - but has its roots in China and the East. There are over 3 million practitioners worldwide.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, solid needles into precise points along the meridians or channels of the body which lie under the skin, stimulating the body's own healing responses and restoring health. In good health the body's Qi, or energy, moves smoothly throughout the body. If the channels in the body become blocked then the Qi no longer moves smoothly and illness can follow. Acupuncture helps clear blockages, expel disease and restore smoothe flow of Qi - promoting good health. Acupuncture treatment focuses on the whole person, not just the symptoms presented.
